Glen Scotia releases exclusive bottling to raise funds for OurWhisky Foundation
Glen Scotia distillery has bottled a lightly-peated single cask whisky, once featured as part of the Campbeltown Malts Festival, with proceeds donated to the OurWhisky Foundation.
Cask no. 19/77/53 featured as part of the Whisky Experiment, a multi-sensory experience hosted by OurWhisky Foundation’s founder Becky Paskin at Glen Scotia’s Campbeltown Malts Festival in 2022.
Guests from around the world were invited to join an immersive whisky experience, sampling the unique cask in the quiet darkness of Glen Scotia’s warehouses.
Distilled in 2012, the lightly-peated single malt was matured in first-fill Bourbon before being finished in the first-fill oloroso hogshead for five years - a ‘uniquely long maturation for Glen Scotia’.
The proceeds will be donated towards the numerous initiatives run by the OurWhisky Foundation which works to recognise, support and empower women+ in the global whisky industry. Numerous members of the team at Glen Scotia have been involved in the Foundation’s world-renowned Atonia Programme.
Becky Paskin, founder of the OurWhisky Foundation, said of the release: “Only those who attended our Whisky Experiment at the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2022 will have tasted this very special cask before, although many may have spotted the cask resting quietly in Glen Scotia’s Dunnage Warehouse. Now, with an additional three years maturation in an oloroso Sherry hogshead, we’re bottling this unique single malt to share with you.
“This cask holds very special and personal memories of Campbeltown for me, so I’m honoured Glen Scotia is releasing it now to support the important work of the OurWhisky Foundation.”

Cory Martin, whisky blender and OurWhisky Foundation alumni describes the whisky as having, ‘delicate wisps of bonfire smoke followed by charred and caramelised pineapple and sticky golden raisins. Toasted Christmas spices of clove, star anise and cinnamon are softened by indulgent vanilla fudge. Finishing with candied walnuts, smoked almonds and a bracing, mineral salinity.'
Just 164 bottles will be available for sale from today, 16th December, directly from Glen Scotia’s website, priced at £125 each.
