The Lakes Distillery launches fundraising ballot for Isadora

The Lakes Isadora whisky

The Lakes Distillery has created a special limited edition whisky for International Women’s Day in honour of dancer Isadora Duncan, with proceeds from bottle #1 donated to the OurWhisky Foundation.

Named Isadora after the pioneering contemporary American dancer, the new single malt whisky is one of the final expressions in the English distillery’s innovative Whiskymaker’s Editions series.

Crafted by Lakes whisky maker Sarah Burgess, Isadora is a Sherry-led malt limited to just 900 individually-numbered bottles that will be exclusively available to purchase at the distillery

Sarah Burgess, whiskymaker for the Lakes Distillery, said: “Designed with élevage, we aimed to create an elegant and timeless Sherry-led whisky with a modern twist. Free from traditional constraints, Isadora invites you to take a graceful waltz through a rich tapestry of flavours, culminating in a crescendo of bitter dark chocolate and a luxuriously long mouth-coating finish.”

Created to celebrate the ‘spirit of modernity and inclusivity’ in whisky, the Lakes Distillery is hosting an online ballot for bottle #1, with 100% of proceeds donated to the OurWhisky Foundation.

Becky Paskin, founder of the OurWhisky Foundation, said: “Sarah is not only a master in her craft but also a mentor for and an ardent supporter of the OurWhisky Foundation. We are a non-profit that relies heavily on the generous support of industry partners, so we are thrilled that Sarah and The Lakes are contributing to our fundraising efforts with the inaugural bottle of Isadora.”

Each £10 ticket provides one entry into the distillery’s prize draw, with no limits to the number of tickets customers can purchase. The ballot is open now until midnight on Thursday 7th March.

Following the ballot, the remaining bottles of Isadora will be available to purchase for the full price of £150 exclusively at the Lakes Distillery from 8th March.
